Meet Felter & Farmer
Hi! I am Chylie, a felter, felting teacher, and 6th generation farmer from Michigan. My family has been farming in Michigan since the late 1800s. I began my journey with sheep when I met my husband in 2016. Ever since, sheep have been the center of our lives. I started felting around that time and now teach felting through kits, video tutorials, and classes.
Our wool is processed from raw fleece to combed top or roving at the local wool mill in Frankenmuth, MI, Zeilinger Wool Co. Most Suffolk and Hampshire wool is dedicated to felting and dryer balls. The softer Romney, Dorset, and BFL I hand dye beautiful colors, which is mostly used for handspinning, but also makes for great wool for needle or wet felting.
